WHO’S DOING WHAT IN OUR WORLD OF CYCLING

SUE PALMER raced at the Hewlett Packard Stage Race in Idaho. Husband, Chris Komar, worked as a team mechanic with Sue”s “Jane Cosmetics” team. From here, Sue flew to France to race the Tour de Bretagne and feels she is rounding into form after having baby Trinity in February.

TARAS KLEBAN raced at the National Track Championships at Bromont, P. Q. in July. He captured two 4th’s and a 5th while competing against over twenty other Junior aged racers, and will still be a Junior next year! Taras has also competed in most of the O.C.A. races in Southern Ontario. He is now racing for team Intersport.

RANDY BROWN has been very active in the ONTARIO MASTERS CYCLING ASSOCIATION. Most Sunday mornings are spent at a “Masters” event. Randy takes charge at our THURSDAY EVENING TIME TRIALS and fills in when BARB MORROW or someone else can’t do timekeeping or turn marshalling.

FRANK MORROW has bought a new mountain bike and does a mid-week mountain bike race at KELSO, as well as our Tuesday crits and Thursday T. T.’s!

DESI DESROCHERS, now 53 years old, continues to be one of the top racers on the racing scene placing at or near the top in most events. Desi combines a very strong time-trialling ability and endurance with a strong sprint. Most recently, he competed at the SUTTON stage race for MASTERS at Sutton, P.Q.

FRED PEPPER is steadily improving as a bicycle racer and seems to be our strongest time trialist with a recent 20:58 at “White Swan”. Fred is doing a multi-day tour from Sault Ste. Marie with his friend, Peter.

H.C.C. MASTERS “RACING TEAM”: FRED PEPPER & ROB CHESKEY have travelled together to many of the “O.C.A. Sanctioned” events this year, racing in the Master B, C, D category. Rob has had some luck, with a win at Woodstock, 3rd at Kitchener and Chatham, 5th at Effingham, 8th at Turkey Point, 9th at Welland and 12th at London and a win at the track. Fred, who only has a handful of races under his belt and is coming on strong has two 10th place finishes, at Kitcnener and Welland.
